COLOR SIDE MATCH:

This is manufacturing related condition and can be caused by the dye shifting in the same sheet of carpet.  One edge of the carpet can differ in color than the other. If this sheet is installed in one room without a seam, the color variation from one edge to the other will not be noticed.  However, when the carpet is seamed, the light edge is connected to the dark edge.  This causes a color variation at the seam.

Color side match can be corrected by feather blending. Feather blending is performed onsite by applying carpet dyes to the lighter side of the carpet to blend the color.

STREAKING

This condition can be caused by tension variation in tufting needles or by dye streaks. Both conditions can be corrected by color blending.

TEXTURE VARIATION

This condition occurs during tufting process due to variation in the size of the loops. Size variation of the loops becomes noticeable when the seams are made. Due to light being reflected at different degrees, the carpet appears different in color.  This condition can be corrected by dye blending.

PILE GRAFTING

This correction is performed by replacing the primary backing (the backing that has the yarn tufted) and leaving the secondary backing intact.  By leaving the secondary backing intact, the carpet does not lose its dimensional stability.

A left over piece of the installed carpet is required to correct the condition.   Hot melt glue is used to glue the primary backing and secondary backing.

The carpet is originally laminated with a clay based adhesive that allows the  backing to pull apart or delaminate.  However, when the hot melt glue is applied between backings, it melts the backings together.  This creates an excellent bond between the backings.

This corrections process can be used to correct:

STEAMING

During storage of rolls and remnants, the carpet crushes down.  Pile crushing may appear in prominent bands across the width of the carpet.  Distance between lines may vary depending upon the size of roll. These lines may vary in size and will appear dark or light, depending upon the direction of observation.

MICRO SHEARING

The process of micro shearing is used to correct many manufacturing and  installation related conditions.  This process also can be used to improve the appearance of rugs and carpet, which have change the appearance due to usage.

RE-BURLING

Individual tufts and loops can be replaced to correct various defects.  Seaming adhesive can be used to insert individual tufts or loops into the primary backing .
